After visiting Yamasaki for a 1st anniversary date, I have now found the perfect Japanese cuisine with a modern/Eastern fusion atmosphere nestled on the east bench of South Salt Lake City. After enjoying a fresh and light lobster sushi appetizer, we filled our appetite with a perfectly cooked teriyaki beef filet sided with a delightful beef sukiyaki, as well as a seafood linguini. The filet was the perfect Japanese restaurant teriyaki dish and the sukiyaki had the perfect savory and sweet combination that satisfies and leaves you wanting more. The seafood linguini was light yet filling and full with delicious scallops, shrimp, clams, and artichoke hearts in a white wine basil sauce. For dessert we enjoyed a delicious mango ice cream topped with sliced strawberries, a must try at Yamaski.

The service was friendly, fast, and had the perfect attention to detail meeting our every request. The atmosphere was the perfect Asian flare that makes eating at a Japanese restaurant an amazing setting for traditional and modern Japanese cuisine; I loved the mural on the wall next to our table. Yamasaki's offers very fair pricing, especially in comparison to the price of Japanese fine dining in a modern and classy atmosphere.
